Vala had the pleasure of collaborating with QuasiReal Publishing on Veil of the Eternal Night, an ambitious 900+ page TTRPG trilogy that immerses players in a gothic horror setting for both D&D 5e and MythCraft. This Kickstarter campaign resonated deeply with the tabletop community, raising $454,638—over 2,273% of its initial $20,000 funding goal—from 2,803 backers. The project’s success can be attributed to its meticulous design elements and immersive storytelling, which together crafted a detailed world of vampire hunting and dark fantasy.

The Veil of the Eternal Night campaign thrived on a multi-platform social media and community engagement strategy. It was important for us to keep potential backers informed. A dedicated Discord community channel on MythCraft's server was the hub for real-time updates, discussions, and direct interaction with fans, fostering a sense of investment in the project. Meanwhile, the campaign was amplified across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, utilizing a mix of visuals, teaser content, and interactive posts to drive engagement and attract new supporters. The MythCraft Podcast played a crucial role in furthering the campaign’s reach, offering in-depth insights into the world of MythCraft as well as Veil of the Eternal Night.

Crafting and maintaining the Veil of the Eternal Night Kickstarter page required continuous effort, from structuring clear and enticing reward tiers to strategically unveiling stretch goals that kept backers engaged. Regular updates, community interaction, and behind-the-scenes insights ensured excitement never waned, while the page design, visuals, and detailed storytelling reinforced the project’s dark fantasy appeal. Transforming the most important updates into email campaigns kept communications tight and focused, so our audiences were getting helpful information that also kept them excited and primed to pledge.
design & Branding
Veil of the Eternal Night relied on expert branding and illustration. There were various design elements in this project, including book covers, enamel pins, tapestries, tarot cards, dice trays, journals, and more. All of this required Vala's design team and professional illustrators to execute. With potential backers who were eager to see the world of Veil of the Eternal Night, it was essential to get these designs in front of fans in a way that let them see exactly what they were pledging for.Partnerships with influencers
Vala partnered with influencers to create a Veil of the Eternal Night official soundtrack that went live on Instagram just before the launch of the Kickstarter. The dice were created in partnership with FanRoll Dice, and miniature 3d printed figures through Beast Miniatures. The plushie stretch goals were a collaboration with Cuddle Core Toys.
